GCSHARP — Global Classroom, Sharpening Potential — is an educational revision and examination-preparation platform built primarily for Cameroonian students preparing for GCE O Level, GCE A Level, HND and Concours examinations.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect when you use the GCSHARP website or application, why we collect it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you. We aim to collect only what is genuinely needed to run the service.

Depending on how you use GCSHARP and which features are active in the current version, we may collect:

• Account information — name and email address provided at registration.
• Authentication information — credentials or sign-in identifiers handled through our authentication provider. We do not store your password in readable form.
• Profile information — details you voluntarily add, such as your level of study, subjects of interest or a display picture.
• Device and technical information — device type, operating system, browser or app version, and crash diagnostics.
• IP address and approximate location — where technically necessary for delivering the service, protecting accounts and preventing abuse.
• Usage information — pages or papers opened, features used, and general activity within the app.
• Search and interaction activity — search terms, filters and saved items used to find revision materials.
• Information you voluntarily submit — messages, feedback, reports or support requests you send to us.

If a feature listed above is not present in the version of GCSHARP you are using, the related information is not collected. This section is kept modular so that any category we no longer need can be removed.

Information may be used to:

• Create, verify and manage your user account.
• Provide educational services and access to revision materials.
• Deliver search, filtering and organisation of examination papers.
• Improve the reliability, speed and content of the platform.
• Personalise your experience, such as showing materials for your level or subjects.
• Maintain the security of accounts and of the service.
• Detect, prevent and respond to abuse, fraud or unauthorised access.
• Communicate important service-related information, such as changes or outages.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and respond to support requests.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

GCSHARP makes examination papers, questions, images, documents and other educational materials available for study and revision purposes.

Many of these materials — including official examination papers — originate from examination boards, authors, publishers or other rights holders. GCSHARP does not claim ownership of third-party examination materials; all rights remain with their respective owners. They are provided to support learners preparing for their examinations.

Materials that GCSHARP itself creates — branding, design, original explanations, original graphics and software — belong to GCSHARP. If you are a rights holder and believe material on GCSHARP should be removed or credited differently, contact us and we will review the request promptly.

We may share limited information with:

• Service providers that help us operate the platform, under obligations to protect the information they process for us.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data and serve the app.
• Authentication providers that manage secure sign-in.
• Analytics or technical service providers, if and where such tools are used, to understand usage and diagnose faults.
• Legal authorities, where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of users and of GCSHARP.

GCSHARP does not sell your personal information for advertising purposes. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide notice before the change takes effect.

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, such as encrypted connections, restricted administrative access, secure authentication handling and regular review of our systems.

No online service can be completely secure, and we do not claim that your information is absolutely protected. You also play a role: keep your password confidential, use a strong and unique password, and tell us if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and maintain your account, and afterwards only where necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
• Update your profile and account settings directly in the app where available.
• Contact us with any question or concern about how your information is handled.

These rights are written to be understandable to users in Cameroon and elsewhere. Where the law of your country grants you additional rights, we will honour them to the extent they apply. GCSHARP may use cookies, local storage and session storage. These fall into two groups:

• Essential technologies — required to keep you signed in, remember your session, keep the service secure and make core features work. The platform cannot function correctly without them.
• Optional analytics and preference technologies — used, where enabled, to remember your settings and understand how the platform is used so that we can improve it. Where required by applicable law, we will ask for your consent before using these.

Most browsers and devices let you clear or block storage and cookies, although blocking essential ones may prevent parts of GCSHARP from working.

GCSHARP is designed for students, and some of them are young learners. We ask all users to provide truthful and accurate information when creating an account, and to avoid sharing more personal detail than is needed to use the platform.

Where applicable law provides additional protections for children or requires parental or guardian consent, those protections apply and we will follow them. Parents, guardians or teachers who believe a young learner has shared information that should be removed may contact privacy@YOUR-DOMAIN.com and we will review and act on the request.

We may update this Privacy Policy as GCSHARP evolves or as legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date and version number at the top of this page always reflect the current version. When changes are material, we will give reasonable notice — for example an in-app message or an email — before they take effect.
